Myofascial Release, also known as myofascial massage therapy and deep-tissue massage, is a deeper western modality focused on lasting pain relief. Myofascial release treats the whole body and is aimed at releasing tension in the fascia as a means of restoring balance to the body and its systems. This is structural bodywork that focuses on the manipulation and lengthening of the body's fascia. Deep tissue can be uncomfortable but it can produce lasting changes to incorrect holding patterns and tension areas.
